final exam and final grade    Posted: May 6, 2008
Final exam grades are posted. Do not include them when you add up your points (use "Best 3 Exams" instead). When you add them all, it should come to the same total as I've posted as "Final Grade." Divide this number by 390 to get your letter grade. 0.90 is A 0.80 is B 0.70 is C and so on. I round to two significant digits. Have a great summer. Dr. B.

Wait 'til tomorrow, then use 390, not 400 as denominator    Posted: May 6, 2008
I will have the grades up tomorrow as soon as they are emailed to me. When you see the final exam grade, add up the following items and divide by 390 In-class Quizzes (50) Best 3 exams (150) Debates (30) Critical Analyses (30) Other Online (35) Online Chapter Quizzes (95) XCredit (0) Dr. B.

Recalculated chapter quiz grades    Posted: May 5, 2008
I noted that having the two 20-point Chapter quizzes actually brought down some students' chapter grades. So, I converted Chapter 6-7 and Chapter 12-13 from 20 pt to 10 pt. Then sorted again, and finally I used the 17 best of 22 instead of the 20 best of 22 quizzes. Everyone's grade went up a little bit. Everyone except for one student, for whom I had originally mistyped the score as 554 points out of 95. See y'all tomorrow at 8AM. Dr. B.

oops, make that denominator 390, not 400    Posted: Apr 30, 2008
Sorry, Make the denominator 390. Dr.B.
